AT FIRST SIP-Honeydew melon, lemon flesh, acacia and white peach. Green apple dominates the palate along with white grapefruit. Quenching natural acidity and alpine like minerality. AFTER A FEW-The urge to pour this all over your seafood whilst saving yourself a glass is strong.
About This Wine
This wine is made from Chardonnay and has been made without the influence of flor or the famous ‘veil’. Grapes were hand harvested and underwent a cool ferment in stainless steel tanks for 3 months on fine lees. Preserving freshness and purity of fruit was the aim here.
After several generations, Domaine Maire & Fils spans 218 hectares across key appellations of the Jura; Château-Chalon, l’Étoile and Arbois. Established in 1632, this family have been patiently acquiring and observing the their local varieties amongst the many varying terroir of the Jura. Their Grand Mineral range, are wines of intense freshness and are made in the Ouillé style (reductive style, without the voile or ‘veil’ of flor).
