About This Wine
A nod to the mavericks who broke ranks and prioritised producing varieties suited to the region over ones based in tradition, it is no wonder Liv & Mij were drawn to this style. Sourced from both Wallcliffe and Wilyabrup, the fruit was handpicked, open fermented and pressed to a mixture of new (20%) and old (80%) barrels for 12 months. For those who have experienced the straight Sangiovese its DNA is here and yet the sum is greater than its parts.

Though Liv is from Margaret River and has a love for it, the duo aren't held hostage by the prestigious sub-region. They chase excellent fruit all over Western Australia, keeping a keen eye out for Italian varieties in particular. The contracts they have with their growers stipulate that the pair take over managing the vineyard each vintage from the point of veraison onwards.
Their simple (yet effective) recipe of great fruit and minimal intervention produces exciting results full of charm and a certain Italian energy.
