AT FIRST SIP-Luscious black cherry, ripe plum, blackcurrant bramble, cedar, sweet beetroot and earth. As it opens, there is elusive violet and rose a long with black olive dust and nutmeg. Silky, long tannins and red cherry spice on the palate confirms this wines reputation for being 'gorgeous'. AFTER A FEW-Oh my she is breathtaking.
About This Wine
La Parde is a classic blend of 47% Merlot, 47% Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Cabernet Franc. Coming up to it's peak drinking now, this is sure to impress your tastebuds and Cabernet fan friends. 2012 was a relief after the hardships of 2011 and generally favoured Merlot over Cabernet Sauvignon hence the split of the blend here. Charm, spice and all things nice can be expected for this vintage.
Haut Bailly in Pessac-Leognan was one of the first to produce a true 'second wine' in 1967. These are phenomenal wines in their own right and offer a sneak peek in to the lofty heights of chateaux grand vins.
