About This Wine

This Pinot Noir is sourced from Medhurst estate vineyards as well as a 'lovely' neighbouring vineyard with 30 year old vines. The fruit was handpicked and went into small open fermenters where 10% of the fruit was kept as whole bunches. Post ferment, the wine was racked to French oak barrels (10% new) for malolcatic fermentation. The wine matured in barrel for 8 months before bottling.

Medhurst is an estate in the Yarra Valley that focuses on small batch wines and championing individual parcels throughout their vineyards. The appointment of winemaker Simon Steele in 2015 has garnered Medhurst well deserved critical acclaim as he marries this considerable experience and flair with the Medhurst style.
