About This Wine
Affectionately dubbed the junior 'Diana Madeline', this is a blend of Mangan and Cullen vineyards. A true Bordeaux blend (70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec) and harvested in 12 picks on fruit and flower days. Matured for 8 months in 33% new oak.
The Cullens were among the first to plant in Margaret River and have become one of the most influential. Still family owned and run, head winemaker Vanya Cullen continues to build on this family's never ending quest for quality. Vanya is a pioneer of biodynamics in the area and speaks of 'soil intelligence' and connection between biodynamic practices and other areas of the business. Being named winemaker of the year in 2020 was the result of many years hard work and stunning vintages. Cullen is one of the producers Australia should and would show to overseas wine industry to express Australia's winemaking prowess.
