Fetherston Estate Chardonnay 2019
AT FIRST SIP-Ruby grapefruit, white nectarine and lemon flesh. Pithy, chalky notes lace together further green orchard fruits. Hinting at some flintiness on the palate with acidity shining through with this mineral edge. Some fresh cut cedar hints at the rounded oak here. Overall hinting at savoury and fresh rather than bold and round. AFTER A FEW-Oozing vitality and autumn stone fruits.

About This Wine
This Chardonnay is sourced from two vineyards; Toolangi Vineyard and Swallowfield both in Yarra Valley (Dixon's Creek & Gembrook).
With 65% of the fruit from Toolangi and the remainder from Swallowfield, harvest was done by hand and whole-bunched pressed. This wine underwent a wild ferment and was aged in French oak puncheons (40% new) for 10 months.

Fetherston, as a relative newcomer to the Australian wine scene, is named after winemaker Chris Lawrence's grandfather, Tony.
Tony Fetherston was an inspiring horticulturalist and the obsession with and love of plants has carried through the generations.
After gaining experience as as a chef, becoming valedictorian of his Oenology degree and stints at Yering Station and Domaine Serene in Willamette Valley, he partnered up with Camille Koll to begin Fetherston.
