About This Wine

One of our favourite skin contact wines in Australia! This lates release is from 100% Biodynamically farmed Verdelho in McLaren Flat. Bit more bassy with some nutty overtones compared to last year, the natural acid and stone fruit add extra yum.

This is a wine of duality; the Verdelho was picked in two sweeps. One early for crispness and one later in the season when grapes were riper. The grapes were destemmed and left on skins to ferment then 50% was then pressed to old oak (after a month) and lees stirred. The remaining 50% remained on skins for 180 days and left sealed. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Under Australian law, you must be over 18 years to purchase alcohol. By entering the Wine Envy website, you acknowledge that you are over 18 years.

Once your payment has been approved, we will book your delivery in through Sendle via either Couriers Please or FastWay / Aramex, for next available pickup. Please allow 4-5 days for most metro areas and up to 10 days for more remote places, (although delivery may occur sooner than quoted). Please note that wine will only be delivered to persons over 18 years of age. You will receive an email notification once your order has been dispatched.

One of our favourite Australian producers, we haven't had a wine from Somos that we haven't slurped down very quickly. Each wine oozes value, flavour and deliciousness.

Somos, means 'we are; in Spanish and is the culmination of Mauricio Ruiz Cantú and Benjamin Caldwell. Based in the McLaren Vale, they are well on their own path, eschewing the regions 'typical' grapes and wine styles. Instead, the pair focus on less known Italian and Spanish varieties, delivering these in innovative, lo-fi and sustainable ways.
