About This Wine
This Adelaide Hills boutique producer, Main & Cherry have another lofty vineyard above the township of Clarendon, Mc Laren Vale. A menagerie of Ducks, Sheep and Alpaca have helped mow in between rows at the vineyard, which is farmed without herbicides or insecticides. Foot stomped in the initial stages and a decent proportion of wholebunches along with a lush dash of French oak for 12 months come together in this serious but not too serious South Australian Shiraz.

Main & Cherry has turned heads in recent years with winemaker Michael Sexton's small batch, distinctive wines.
Having grown up in the Adelaide Hills where his parents planted the original Main & Cherry vineyard in 1996 and Mike acquiring his own home vineyard in McLaren Vale, he knows the vineyard wealth of this region very well.
Mike likes to keep things in harmony so instead of using pesticides in the vineyard, he employs a gang of Indian Runner ducks to keep pests in check. In the winery, he works gently by hand, favouring a small basket press over any high tech equipment.
