There is a small gang of three behind Wine Envy. With a combined 50+ years in the wine industry, we have all firmly and happily landed ourselves in the best biz on the planet.
We launched Wine Envy at the end of 2020 quietly to friends and family before really getting stuck in to the world of online wine sales in February 2021.
Our mission was simple; we love wine and want to share it. We wanted to build a platform for wines we adored, showcasing them to those who were as wine curious as we were.
General Manager and Buyer, Courtney Tate
Courtney is from Central Otago, New Zealand and accidentally moved to Sydney some 6 years ago. She was supposed to just stay in Sydney a year but then was wooed by the local wine scene. She moved from NZ having been a Sommelier in fine dining to working as a wine rep for Negociants Australia, whilst gaining her WSET Diploma. As GM and buyer for Wine Envy she oversees it all and endeavours to share as many of her favourite wines with like minded wine lovers.
Director, Adam Partington
Adam has lead many teams across wine retail and wholesale over the years and thoroughly enjoys all things wine. Though he certainly enjoys the wine side of things (would never turn down a Rhone or White Burgundy), he is undoubtedly a fan of the people in wine. Connecting with people in wine has been a consistent joy and as such began his own wine distribution company in late 2018; Saint Wine, "with a vision of providing the highest service distribution solution for wineries, both domestic and internationally and a belief that the culmination of great wine and great people could lead to a new concise national distribution model."
Director, Tyson Rowsell
Tyson is the man behind the scenes of many successful hospitality venues, he professes that 'hospitality is in my blood'. Previously the GM for the Grounds in Sydney and since, founder of Fuse Hospitality. The customer is always top of mind for Tyson, constantly finding better ways to benefit his end customer whether it be a hospitality venue or a person enjoying a glass of wine at his cafe, Dirty Red. He connects all the pieces together at Wine Envy and he also loves Shiraz, which is probably what Adam and Tyson first bonded over!
