Heitz-Lochardet represents the joining of two families (as it seems to happen so much in Burgundy) that has been revived to stardom thanks to current winemaker and latest vigneron in the family; Armand Heitz.
Many of the families vines were sold or contracted out to large Negociants. Knowing the quality of these vineyards, Armand has slowly and determinedly gained back his family vineyards. Based in Comblanchien, just south of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Armand tends his 20 hectares which lie predominantly within the Meursault and Montrachet(s) villages. He applies biodynamic principals and regenerative viticulture throughout his vineyards.
He believes in using only whole bunches in all of his wines, lending a very distinct vivaciousness and drive to each wine.
