About This Wine
McHenry Hohnen farms their three single site Chardonnay vineyards according to biodynamic principals. The Laterite Chardonnay is a blend of the three sites: 35% Burnside 35% Calgardup 30% Hazel’s. The fruit was hand-picked, whole bunch pressed and underwent a natural, wild yeast fermentation in French oak (of which 25% was new). A portion went through wild malolactic fermentation before being transferred to tank on full lees.
McHenry Hohnen is a family run, highly respected biodynamic producer in the Margaret River. Their farm is brimming with life and symbiotic relationships, achieving organic certification and applying biodynamic principals.
