About This Wine

With the rise of Tempranillo in South Australia and Michael's passion for the variety he works hard to understand the regional characteristics of the variety and as such this vintage has decided to source from two vineyards, one in McLaren Vale and the other in Langhorne Creek. A medley of techniques is used to showcase how multi-faceted this variety can be. Partial Carbonic fermentation with a short 12 days on skins allows for gentle extraction and oak only used here for structural purposes.

Under Australian law, you must be over 18 years to purchase alcohol. By entering the Wine Envy website, you acknowledge that you are over 18 years.

Once your payment has been approved, we will book your delivery in through Sendle via either Couriers Please or FastWay / Aramex, for next available pickup. Please allow 4-5 days for most metro areas and up to 10 days for more remote places, (although delivery may occur sooner than quoted). Please note that wine will only be delivered to persons over 18 years of age. You will receive an email notification once your order has been dispatched.

Main & Cherry has turned heads in recent years with winemaker Michael Sexton's small batch, distinctive wines.

Having grown up in the Adelaide Hills where his parents planted the original Main & Cherry vineyard in 1996 and Mike acquiring his own home vineyard in McLaren Vale, he knows the vineyard wealth of this region very well.

Mike likes to keep things in harmony so instead of using pesticides in the vineyard, he employs a gang of Indian Runner ducks to keep pests in check. In the winery, he works gently by hand, favouring a small basket press over any high tech equipment.

Main & Cherry now offers a diverse range of wines that cover traditional varieties as well as some experimental alternate varieties. There's a subtle modernity that binds the range together and if we're honest, each wine is miles ahead from contemporaries in the same price range.
