Kistler’s pinot noirs are informed by two heritage selections originating from a Grand Cru vineyard in Burgundy. A 25-year journey of selection and refinement has led to the conclusion that both clones contribute to the richness and complexity of the wines. Similar to chardonnay, the pinot noir approach emphasises low yields, small berries, and a delicate touch to let the individual site characteristics shine through.

Kistler’s pinot noirs are informed by two heritage selections originating from a Grand Cru vineyard in Burgundy. A 25-year journey of selection and refinement has led to the conclusion that both clones contribute to the richness and complexity of the wines. Similar to chardonnay, the pinot noir approach emphasises low yields, small berries, and a delicate touch to let the individual site characteristics shine through.

Intense aromas of strawberries and cherries are refined by the subtle scent of rose petals. On the palate, it offers perfect symmetry between well-structured tannins and refreshing acidity, culminating in a mineral touch reminiscent of iron filings.

Winemaker Jason Kesner works with just one heritage chardonnay clone (and two heritage pinot noir clones) across their network of meticulously farmed vineyards – testament to co-founder Steve Kistler's origin philosophy of crafting site-driven wines with a minimalist approach. All wines are fermented with native yeasts and bottled without filtering or fining.
