This bright, perfumed Syrah has lifted violet, black cherry and raspberries. The palate is elegant with plum, red berries, and spice. A unique wine with soft velvety tannins driven by lingering acidity. The perfect example of that more elegant style wine that Eden Valley produces.
Winemaking
This Syrah was picked at optimum ripeness at around 13.5-14 Baume with 20% whole bunches remaining in the fermentation. The fruit was held at 10-15 degrees for 2 days before being allowed to warm and naturally start fermentation. After 8 days on skins and gentle daily hand plunging, the wine was pressed to 100% seasoned French oak 500L puncheons, where it matured for 15 months. No fining or filtration was used on this wine.

Brothers at War came from humble beginnings. Commencing in 2013 with a tonne of Shiraz, the Brothers’ vision started as nothing more than a fun way for two boys in their twenties to occupy a weekend. In 2014, they added a parcel of Cabernet, and with that, their “Fist Fight” Shiraz and “I’m Always Right” Cabernet were born.
Picking up some other guys along the way, such as their grape grower Chris Alderton, the Brothers vision has organically grown into a shared passion to create world class wines from small parcels of exceptional fruit.
Brothers At War has grown into one of Australia's hidden gems.
