A name that needs little introduction in the world of Italian Wine, the Allegrini family forges ever onward in the pursuit of the highest quality, terroir-focussed expressions from the regions they represent. For this reason we are excited to introduce to you the newest project and the first headed by the next generation of Allegrini,VillaDella Torre.
TheVillaDella Torre premesis, one of the most captivating and exquisite constructions of the italian renaissance, was designed by Giulio Romano and Michele Sanmicheli between late 1440 and 1562. Modelling inspired by the ancient Roman domus the estate is now under the care of the Allegrini family and home to theVillaDella Torre winery.
A project managed by Marilisa’s daughters, Carlotta and Caterina, the winery offers two distinct wines, a Valpolicella Classico from vines around thevillaand a Lugana sourced from a vineyard in San Donino. Focusing on only two wines allows for absolute precision and attention to detail in every aspect of production.
The wines are made in tiny volumes with a focus on preserving the history and prestige of the estate whilst utilising modern techniques to drive innovation and sustainability.
The two wines sourced from exquisite sites speak of the care and attention the family is investing into their roles as caretakers of their vineyards with both being tended by the Allegrini family utilising cutting edge sustainability methods.
