AT FIRST SIP-Plum, boysenberry, cherry, leather and spice. Lots of succulence and 'classic' Nebbiolo characteristics. Full bodied and chewy, full tannins, expressing the riper vintage with power and elegance. AFTER A FEW-Pavarotti was a large man but boy could he move.
About This Wine
Upholding his fathers (Giacomo Conterno) reputation, Aldo Conterno is one of the most respected winemakers of Barolo. Inspired by the revolutionary modernist techniques of Angelo Gaja, Aldo formed his own estate in 1969. The 25 hectare estate in Monforte d'Alba, which is now managed by Aldo's three sons, following his death in 2012.
'Bussia' refers to the famed slope of the same name in Monforte d'Alba. This wine is a blend of 3 vineyards (Romirasco, Cicala and Colonnello) from the Bussia slope and offers a complete, broader impression of the terroir. The wines of Aldo Conterno offers truly spectacular drinking as well as prime cellaring and collectors items.
